Did you know that as your bad (LDL) cholesterol levels rise, so does your risk of heart disease? Even if you’ve made changes to your diet and lifestyle, and tried taking the highest tolerated dose of statin, if your bad cholesterol is still high—you’re at risk.
Your doctor may decide that it is time to add PRALUENT. PRALUENT is used along with diet and maximally tolerated statin therapy in adults with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (an inherited condition that causes high levels of bad cholesterol) or atherosclerotic heart problems, who need additional lowering of bad cholesterol. The effect of PRALUENT on heart problems such as heart attacks, stroke, or death is not known. It is not known if PRALUENT is safe and effective in children.
